How to stay organized as a Virtual Assistant – Tip #3

Continuing on with Tip#3 in my article series of how to stay organized – Backup Your Files!

One thing I have learned about technology over the years is that everything can be fine one day and in one minute, your computer crashes and you lose all of your work.  It is extremely hard to be organized if you lose all of your work!  I have 2 backup drives in-house that I use to backup my files on a regular basis.  It only takes one time of losing everything on your hard drive to learn the lesson of how important it is to have a backup plan.

There are also great offsite backup companies and a popular one is Carbonite - http://www.carbonite.com.  You get unlimited online backup for a very reasonable price.  Another popular option is the BackUp My PC software from Veritas and is available on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Stomp-Inc-BackUp-MyPC/dp/B00005V257.

Regardless of which option you choose, implementing a regular backup plan into your business and personal life is imperative as time moves on and we become more and more dependent on technology.
